Adventist Health's revenue cycle operations are jointly operated by Huron and Adventist health. Huron provides strategic revenue cycle operations leaders (managers and above are employed by Huron), while revenue cycle associates and supervisors are badged and employed by Adventist. Adventist, like all other providers in the market, is under immense pressure to improve clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of providing patient care. The Patient Access Director develops departmental policies, procedures, and protocols to assure compliance with Joint Commission, federal, state, and other regulatory agencies related to patient access. Provide operational and strategic leadership to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate patient access functions. Manage budget to ensure profitability with patient access departments. Plan and develop new systematic approaches to maximize upfront collections and accuracy in registrations. Provide input for process design and other implementation activities. Oversee department efficiency in meeting departmental goals and implement plans for improvement. Provide input and direction to strategic plan and goals to meet imperatives. Participate in budget preparation and cost control management.

Seek to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard and facilitate a plan for resolution. Delegate the work appropriately, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. Identify associates and team priorities based on business direction and adjust when needed. Lead by example and share knowledge and experiences with associates and team. Create a respectful work environment where you advocate for your team, create accountability and recognize their accomplishments. Provide timely feedback to encourage success, ensure accountability, and connect opportunities for your associates’ development. Identify the right talent to achieve the desired results. Promote and build a diverse cohesive team to accomplish objectives and align associates' skills to fill gaps.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Guides and directs subordinate supervisors/managers on patient access team
• Develops and implements policy and procedure recommendations to meet the needs of the Health and Hospital System and its patients;
• Oversees preparation of the budget for areas of responsibility and participates in the preparation of the annual Health and Hospital System budget.
