Sr. Cloud Engineer wanted by GBT US LLC in Scottsdale, AZ. Performing administration and operations of overall Red Hat OpenShift solutions for customers, including development of solution designs, implementation plans and documentation; performing development of IT automation products and service offerings; assessing the provided automation architecture and or proof of concept and selecting best methods for implementation of said architecture and creating appropriate automated tests to validate functionality; conducting proactive performance tuning and providing recommendations for improvement; building credibility and trust by delivering what has been promised within established timeframes; performing assessment of workloads for fit into one of several cloud deployment form factors – IaaS, PaaS, Serverless functions and guiding infrastructure teams in implementing creative solutions on public cloud infrastructure, as well as helping application teams to move to target form factor; evaluating and implementing orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to ensure consistent processes and repetitive tasks are performed with the highest level of accuracy and reduced defects; communicating effectively with Development and Operations teams to align on requirements, driving SDLC requirements, capabilities, and limitations pertinent to delivering highly resilient applications on GBT Cloud Platforms; creating new automation tooling, modifying existing automation artifacts, to make the automation work on different platforms in a consistent manner; analyzing platform usage metrics to determine if platform needs to be expanded to meet the computational needs of existing and new hosted applications and, if so, planning and executing engineering tasks as required; coordinating installation of operating platforms and validating the installation to ensure that documented platform engineering requirements and specifications are met; facilitating the resolutions of non-application issues (3rd party upstream issues, infrastructure issues, storage, database, network, file transfer); communicating effectively with Development and Operations teams to align on requirements, driving SDLC requirements, capabilities, and limitations pertinent to delivering highly resilient applications; working with other experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, reviewing new and existing code and/or performing unit testing; being involved with Center of Enablement – coaching and advising on the SRE function, working with various teams, and providing real-life examples when necessary; designing and implementing automation around serverless applications and applying continuous integration, continuous delivery & continuous deployment; working closely with software engineers, architects, and product management to design and build the foundational toolset and capabilities that allow GBT developers to quickly bring new features to market; monitoring & troubleshooting the Cloud resources; determining and fixing environment and configuration issues; analyzing logs and communicating potential code issues to development teams; evangelizing cloud technologies and CI/CD solutions for wider engineering teams; identifying cloud infrastructure needs for deployment environments and managing cost by optimizing the usage of resources.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in any occupation which includes the required exp./skills. Must have five (5) years of experience with Container Technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker and Open shift; five (5) years of experience with DevOps tools, GIT, Azure DevOps and Jenkins; five (5) years of experience with Shell scripting; four (4) years of experience with Configuration Management Scripts (any one or a combination of Ansible or Chef); four (4) years of experience with Cloud platforms (any one or a combination of AWS, Azure, or GCP); and three (3) years of experience with Programming Languages (any one or a combination of Python or Go). May work from home within commuting distance to office. $125,278-$170,000/yr.
