As a Senior Product Engineer in one of SIBG´s top invest portfolios, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Being a member of an IATD division-wide, global R&D team that executes important product improvement/change programs to deliver our brand promise of innovation and strong reliability to our customers.
- Developing a good understanding of our customer/market needs especially around Structural and Sprayable Adhesives
- Supporting and leading cross functional product improvement projects (NPI, CMP) to enable accelerated business growth and ensure competitiveness.
- Being an active member of high impact, cross functional teams that will work on multiple product families manufactured
- Leading and overseeing change management as it relates to product design changes driven by product/quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- At least two (2) years of experience in product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory in a private, public or government environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Four (4) years of product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Experience in project management in an environment related to production
- Experienced in on-site process work (pilot batches, production follow-up, measurement of physical, chemical and mechanical properties)
- Experience in product risk assessments, product safety, and product reliability
- Experience in leading Change Management Projects (CMP) maintaining Go-To product families and supporting global localizations of these product families
- Strong analytical and data driven thinking
- Organized and efficient working style with a good sense of priorities and the ability to manage various projects in parallel
- Effective communication skills, proven ability to develop and maintain productive networks within the 3M technical community.
- Collaborative interpersonal style with a global mindset
- English is required
- Current, valid Driver’s License.
Work location:
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week in Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
