Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience designing mechanical components such as optical elements, plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
- Experience with precision alignment for opto-mechanical assemblies.
- Experience with optomechanical assemblies, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), or optical systems with tolerance analyses.
- Experience with Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) mis-match in optical systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
- 5 years of experience with opto-mechanical system design for mass production.
- Experience optimizing designs for precision optical systems, including kinematic design and tolerance analyses.
- Experience with multidisciplinary STOP analysis (structural-thermal-optical-performance), including experience in translating simulation results to deliver complete system analysis, and physical testing for design validation.
- Experience with optical systems, cameras, sensors, or display technologies, including system-level understanding.
- Proficiency in end-to-end consumer hardware development processes, with the ability to adapt strategies from initial prototypes to large-scale manufacturing.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
