Job Description

The Production Manager will be responsible for production management functions in connection with Entertainment Daily Shows & Specials. The role will liaise with producers, third party production companies, assemble production budgets and teams for in-house productions, and contribute toward continuous process improvement. 

Job Duties:

• Work with Production Creative teams to align budgets with creative requirements, production schedules, and production milestones for assigned productions
• Review and analyze production budgets and schedules coming from third party production companies
• Build the annual budget for the HD daily show.
• Build production budgets, schedules and milestones from bottoms up for in-house productions.
• Handle budget negotiation with project vendors
• Prepare production plans, schedules and milestones
• Facilitate process & platforms for production adoption
• Review and analyze third party production company cost reporting
• Work with Finance counterparts to ensure expenses are being captured appropriately
• Manage production budget pacing and forecast
• Anticipate areas of potential savings or overages and report to direct supervisor
• Work with Compliance Production Manager to ensure productions adhere to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures
• Work with Compliance Production Manager to review and adjust Business Continuity Plan
• Liaise between producers and internal departments as needed (e.g. Network, Finance, Business & Legal, Standards & Practices, Rights & Clearances, Post etc.)
• Liaise with legal for production-related questions and needs, such as Independent Contractor Agreements
• Make sure productions obtain appropriate legal documentation (e.g. Certificates of Engagement, location agreements, etc)
• Ensure that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of NBCU Telemundo Center infrastructure
• Manage ongoing workflow and communication cadence with Telemundo team as it pertains to Daily Production
• Collaborate with department head on overall business transformation and organization effectiveness initiatives
• Work with management to provide additional areas of support

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Minimum 4 years hands-on production management experience within a digital and commercial/film/television environment
• Working knowledge of physical production, cost reporting, budget creation/management
• Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
• Exhibits working knowledge of health and safety requirements
• Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Internet search engines
• Willingness to travel and on weekends with short notice
