Within the OECD's Executive Directorate (EXD), the Conference, Security and Infrastructure Service (EXD/CSI) is responsible in particular for the conference services, language services (interpretation and translation), safety and fire security of OECD staff, delegates and visitors and the management and operation of OECD buildings facilities in Paris and at OECD Centres abroad.  Within the Conference, Security and Infrastructure Service, the Conference and Security Division (CSD) is responsible for conferences, security and fire safety.  In particular, it manages the OECD's conference spaces and ensures that audiovisual services and other high-quality conference services are available to those organising and attending meetings and events.

Job Description

The CSD division is looking for a Remote conferencing technician who will be responsible for preparing, assisting with, setting up and operating the audiovisual tools for remote conferencing. The Remote conferencing technician will report directly to CSD's Remote conferencing co-ordinator.

Main responsibilities

Remote conferencing (Audio / Video / Web):

  • From the information provide by CRMS (Conference Management System) organize and schedule service requests (audio, video and web conference) in coordination with the remote conferencing team.
  • Provide support to meeting organisers in the preparation and conduct of remote conferences and provide them with the necessary assistance.
  • Provide advice and training to users.
  • Maintain a telephone hotline for client dedicated to remote conferencing services, in collaboration with the other members of the team.

Self-Service Rooms

  • Check and reporting (about audiovisual equipment, breakdowns and maintenance).
  • Users assistance (in-room or remotely) and documentation of the functioning of audio-visual equipment.
  • On-site coordination of the intervention of subcontractors (integrators, installers, suppliers).

Other responsibilities:

  • Support meeting organisers in the use of the Conference Room Management System (CRMS) and adjust invoice items if necessary.
  • Supply the information needed to track and report regularly on remote conferencing activity.
  • Participate in other tasks connected to the unit’s activities.
  • Put forward ideas for improving the service (both technical and organisational).
  • Stay abreast of new remote conferencing technologies (audio, video and web conferencing) and their implementation.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate profile

Academic background

  • Post-secondary education and a higher technical qualification, preferably in web, IT technologies or multimedia.

Professional background

  • At least four years' professional experience in multimedia, notably:
    • the provision of support and training to “premium” users of complex IT tools (e.g. audio, video and web).
    • in the operation, development or maintenance of web applications.

Tools

  • Excellent understanding of one or more of the main professional online conferencing applications, such as WebEx, Skype for Business, Teams, Zoom.
  • General understanding of operating systems (Windows, Mac OS).
  • Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Basics of standard configurations, systems and office tools.
  • Basics of computer networks and IP technologies.
  • Basics of multi-language web platforms.

Languages

  • Fluency in one of the two official OECD languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
