Overview
Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Manager, who will oversee the ongoing growth and development of Burlington’s renewable energy program. The role is responsible for implementing the comprehensive renewables strategy in order to achieve Burlington’s current target of 20% renewable power by 2030. The role will play an essential role in continuing to grow the scope and scale of renewables in Burlington’s utility portfolio.
A Day In The Life:
Project & Program Management:
- Manage Burlington's current renewable project portfolio, including all onsite solar and offsite supply contracts
- Coordinate with landlords and manage incumbent vendors on all projects and deliverables related to renewables including landlord partnership projects and community solar projects
- Oversee all current renewables projects to ensure the ongoing optimal performance, including data logging, and initiating repair and maintenance of owned solar arrays
- Coordinate with Facilities and Landlord Relations teams on any landlord controlled onsite solar, including re-roofs and repairs
- Assist with contract management of new and existing projects; work with Burlington Counsel to review, revise and execute contracts related to renewables portfolio
Program Outreach, Engagement & Development
- Liaise with Burlington's largest landlords on current and potential projects, including onsite solar, community solar, or other renewable initiatives
- Maintain consistent and timely outreach with portfolio of utility suppliers regarding deregulated renewable supply opportunities
- Engage potential vendors on new renewables opportunities
- Maintain and regularly update tracker of potential renewables vendors and relevant new technologies related to renewables
- Complete regular research on new opportunities in renewable technologies, including solar, wind, hydro and battery storage
Reporting and Analytics
- Maintain progress tracker of long-term renewables strategy to reach 20% renewable energy by 2030
- Manage quarterly updates to GHG roadmap; compile analysis to show how 2030 target will be met and create any requested deliverables for dissemination to senior leadership
- Maintain and update all renewables portfolio tracking documents
- Oversee onsite monitoring systems tracking solar production
- Compile and organize all renewable energy credits (RECs) received from renewable generation from all partners, including landlords, suppliers and third parties
- Manage all third-party REC tracking systems, including WREGIS, NE-POOL and GATS and ensure proper accounting of all expected RECs uploaded to the tracking systems
- Complete any requested analysis to compare annual REC generation to utilities
- Research, compile ongoing market analysis of solar landscape as it relates to market growth, saturation, opportunities and headwinds
- Complete any requested or required reporting of renewables generation; reports may include cost savings to tariff rates or GHG implications
Renewable Deregulated Utilities
- Coordinate with Burlington Utilities Team to ensure all renewables are accounted for in utilities portfolio; ensure accounts are up to date, shown in utilities portfolio and there are no account or supply overlaps
- Provide oversight and recommendations for the inclusion of renewable supply in deregulated utilities portfolio
- Manage renewables accounts within the overall Burlington deregulated utilities portfolio
- Provide any additional support to Burlington Utilities team as it pertains to adding and subtracting sites on renewable deregulated contracts
- Ensure timely engagement with Burlington's deregulated utility consultant on additional opportunities to add renewables to portfolio, ensuring timing and cost savings opportunities
You'll Come With:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or equivalent from a college or technical school.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, including but not limited to, onsite solar systems, battery storage, renewable energy markets, renewable energy credit mechanisms, incentives and tax programs, deregulated utilities including renewable supply.
- Experience and expertise in energy management and related technologies. Understanding of corporate sustainability and related finance, including budget building and accounting. <
