About the role

<p><strong>Change.org is looking for a Senior Global Campaigner in Madrid to run global campaigns and international movements. In this exciting role, Senior Global Campaigner will proactively spot opportunities and create new ones for staffed and unstaffed Change.org markets. An excellent coordination with colleagues across the globe will be crucial for achieving success in this position.                                                                                                                            </strong></p> <p>We’re a social impact business, and the world's largest non-profit owned tech platform focused on civic action with 80m monthly users, 50,000 campaigns launched on the site every month, and a revenue model that has grown by 500% in 2 years. We’re growing quickly, and our users win campaigns for change once every hour.</p> <p>From mobilizing over 5 million people to investigate the fires in the Amazon, to mobilizing nearly 3 million against war and famine in Yemen, to large-scale mobilizations for the people of Iran and against the war in Ukraine, and calling for Racial Justice in the US, many movements were born on Change.org. Dozens of local, national, and international victories are happening every day thanks to the strength of our members who are changing the lives of people around the world. We want to help them go even further and we need your help! </p> <p><strong>As a Senior Global Campaigner, you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Identify and support compelling </strong><strong>international petitions and movements on Change.org. Support the organizers to optimize their petition text, implement smart tactics </strong>(from storytelling and social distribution to media and decision maker outreach), <strong>and amplify</strong> these petitions to reach millions of potential supporters on Change.org ;</li> <li><strong>Define effective theories of change and identify decision-makers</strong> at national and international levels to support organizers in launching successful mobilizations ;</li> <li><strong>Stay informed on news stories and issues to identify movement opportunities</strong> for impactful petitions and find potential organizers for global campaigns.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate with Organizer Success department leadership</strong> to make sure Change.org can timely play an important role in international movements and <strong>organize cross-country strategies </strong>with campaigners for international campaigns</li> <li><strong>Systematize learning processes to better understand how to drive impact for global campaigns </strong>and maintain relationships with key organizations, activists, media, and community leaders in key issue areas.</li> </ul> <p>Talent, enthusiasm, and leadership matter more to us than ticking boxes. If even a couple of the criteria on our wishlist below speak to you and you’re excited about this role, we want to hear from you.</p> <p><strong>Core competencies needed to be successful in the role:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You are autonomous and enjoy collaborating with multiple stakeholders</li> <li>You have excellent writing and oral skills in both Spanish and English, at least. Speaking and writing in English is essential to this role since you will interact daily with users from all over the world and our teams abroad. Any additional language will be strongly appreciated</li> <li>You have a deep commitment to our mission of empowering people to win campaigns on what is important to them      </li> <li>You have a good understanding of European and international social justice, economic, political and environmental issues</li> <li>You thrive on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, primarily) and know how to run digital campaigns that can become viral </li> <li>You love creating visual content (incl video) and you are comfortable using Canva </li> <li>You can write newsletters that can move people to action. You've got a strong sense of narrative and user experience, and you can turn out compelling copy at short notice.</li> <li>You are data savvy and are able to work across formats with segmentation, analysis and reporting, in collaboration with analytics and strategy experts </li> </ul> <p><strong>Target experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have some formal experience (at least 4 years)<strong> </strong>with grassroots campaigning/advocacy NGOs or have been an activist around a certain cause for several years already</li> <li>You have lived experience or connections with communities that face disadvantage, discrimination or marginalization</li> <li>You have a can-do,  positive attitude, are self-motivated, keen to learn, and willing to take risks, to fail, and to adapt.</li> <li>You are low-ego, with a strong sense of fun and give-and-take, and the ability to work in a low-structure team environment.  You're driven by results, and you're always curious about how to improve your work</li> </ul> <p> <strong>Interested?
