Description 

Devon is seeking a Sr. Training Professional to design an employee-focused technology training program focused on Data. This role collaborates with subject matter experts, leaders and vendors to assess, evaluate and develop relevant high-quality training solutions to meet business needs and drive performance. This role will build the training strategy for Technology Training at Devon and then help to execute it by working with a variety of different people throughout the department on course creation and delivery. The ideal candidate will be an excellent listener and communicator (both individually and in groups), great at building relationships with a variety of different people to better understand their needs and can influence people into action. This individual should understand instructional concepts and practices, tools and emerging technologies available, as it relates to training and development, and have a background in developing technology training. They should have experience in measuring training success through metrics and reports to demonstrate ROI impact.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner/Consult with and develop strong relationships with project managers, business users, leadership and others to determine training needs and expectations and to develop a technology training strategy. 
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts, leaders and vendors to understand and execute training initiatives.  
  • Coordinate training across the department to ensure the correct individuals, company-wide, are receiving the appropriate training to perform the duties of their role utilizing the technology available at Devon. 
  • Develop course materials such as QRCs, videos, online training content, PowerPoint presentations, etc. and identifies appropriate repository for storage and facilitation of materials. 
  • Ensures learning and development strategies and materials are in alignment to organizational and departmental goals, mission and values. 
  • Communicates learning opportunities throughout the company to encourage participation. Develop communication plan in conjunction with Corporate Communications and other leaders. 
  • Develops reporting and metrics to measure the success and return on investment of training. 
  • Partners with other training professionals throughout the company to coordinate training available across the company. 
  • Acts as a change manager to encourage participation and adoption of Technology tools, data and processes. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 5+ years of experience in training, learning and development, corporate training or instructional design roles required. 
  • Must have strong understanding of organizational training design and development, adult learning concepts, practices, procedures. 
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to professionally communicate with leadership at all levels. 
  • Must have a positive attitude with the ability to influence change. 
  • Ability to be resourceful and well organized with ability to shift resources and priorities as required.  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently as well as respond to multiple requests and changing priorities. 
  • Proficient with MS Office products and experience with e-learning software.  
  • Experience in designing technical course content for in-person, remote and blended environments. 
  • Critical thinking and decision-making aptitude. 
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, presentation and public speaking skills. 
  • Technology and data experience preferred.
