A Day in the Life of a Senior Engineer (Civil/Roadway)

You are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You lead, support, and mentor an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs such as MicroStation and AutoCAD/Civil 3D to fulfill production work on your projects. You will share your knowledge with staff and clients, to develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents, as well mentor your colleagues to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.

You participate in business development pursuits in your home region as well as across our North American offices. Your job can sometimes be challenging, but you get to work with a close-knit team that is passionate about the work and the communities that you serve.

We are targeting a salary range of $108,000 to $140,000 for this position.

Qualifications of a Senior Engineer:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering
• Professional engineering license in MO and KS (or ability to obtain)
• 8+ years of experience
• 3+ years of experience in project or design management role
• Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation (including OpenRoads), AutoCAD (including Civil 3D)
• Experience coordinating utility, right-of-way, street lighting, traffic signals, and landscape and hardscape layout
• Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
• Exposure to construction management is a plus
• Having a strong interest in multimodal and active transportation design is preferred
