JOB TITLE: Principal SYS/Software Engineer Lead
JOB LOCATION: 208 S Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]
DUTIES: Principal SYS/Software Engineer Lead needed by AT&T Services, Inc. in Dallas, Texas [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to lead the strategic alignment of application development roadmaps and application and enterprise strategies. Collaborate with product managers to understand requirements and ensure timely project delivery. Interact with cross functional teams, stakeholders and external partners on dependencies. Provide technical design and architectural leadership to multiple teams and projects to help ensure applications are integrated and adhere to stated architectural and design principles and standards while having the opportunity to remain in a hands-on engineering role. Drive efforts to architect, design, develop, and implement technology-enabled business and technical information solutions encompassing multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies. Research, analyze and recommend new technologies, rationalization opportunities, standard processes, tools and techniques. Work with application and enterprise technology architecture strategies. Review business process and technical solution designs to help ensure selection of appropriate technology. Utilize resources and integration of multiple systems and technologies. Provide functional and technical leadership to other lead engineers, architects, product managers and test engineers. Mentor and guide more than 3 teams, conducting code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Enforce company policies in the areas of development methodology, architecture, security, change and configuration management and compliance. Perform complex engineering activities for performance tuning, monitoring, deployment and production support. Manage a team of development engineers, test engineers and business analysts. Design, develop and deliver various initiatives for AT&T’s customer and employee’s digital experience across the consumer distribution channels. Manage and lead the software product development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support. Work with technical background to design modular and scalable web components, have experience leading large cross-organizational software development projects and have a well-rounded technical background in current web and microservice technologies. Define and work on technical architecture ensuring application’s scalability and aligning it with business goals. Oversee One (1) Senior Tech Product Mgr and One (1) Lead Software Engineering.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation leading the strategic alignment of application development roadmaps and application and enterprise strategies; collaborating with product managers to understand requirements and ensure timely project delivery; interacting with cross functional teams, stakeholders and external partners on dependencies; providing technical design and architectural leadership to multiple teams and projects to help ensure applications are integrated and adhere to stated architectural and design principles and standards while having the opportunity to remain in a hands-on engineering role; performing complex engineering activities for performance tuning, monitoring, deployment and production support; and managing a team of development engineers, test engineers and business analysts.
