Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission System Division seeks an IT Support Technician to support a proprietary program in the Northern Virginia area. This program is dynamic and exciting, providing the opportunity to learn and work within a broad range of engineering disciplines.  You will support the IT team with asset management, software licensing and renewal, equipment movement, installation, and disposal, and system administration.

We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.  We work all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Responsibilities:

• Process, track, and store incoming hardware and handle hardware disposal.
• Deploy hardware:  support users replacing defective hardware, support recap of outdated hardware.
• Track hardware maintenance contracts in coordination with supplier management.  Ensuring new items are added to support contracts and disposed items are removed.
• Track software licenses and work with supplier management to ensure license renewals are submitted in a timely manner to ensure continuity.  Add additional licenses when purchased and remove renewals when software is retired.
• Provide Tier 1 Support:  Basic Linux and Windows troubleshooting, login issues, password resets, and account reactivation.
• Perform hardware configuration, BIOS patching, and Firmware upgrades.

To meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in Herndon, VA.

This position requires an active U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

This position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

• 1+ years related work experience in the information technology field.
• IAM Level 1 DoD 8140.01 (previously 8570.01) compliant certification (i.e. CAP, GSLC, Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP, CISM, GSLC).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related.
• Experience acquired through advanced technical education.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range:   78,000 – 105,800.
