Summary
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels, and ensuring efficient flow of materials within the warehouse or storage facility. This role plays a key part in minimizing discrepancies, preventing stock shortages, and supporting operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Accuracy & Tracking
• Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and audits.
• Update inventory management systems with incoming and outgoing stock transactions.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
Receiving & Issuing Materials
• Verify and record incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Prepare, package, and document outgoing shipments.
• Label, store, and organize inventory to ensure easy accessibility.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain detailed and accurate inventory records in the company database.
• Generate inventory reports for management review.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end inventory reconciliations.
Process Improvement & Compliance
• Recommend improvements to inventory control processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in implementing best practices for stock control and warehouse organization.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management software and Microsoft Office (Excel required).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to [insert weight] pounds.
