RF Engineering Intern

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an RF Engineer Intern to work in our St. Petersburg, FL office. This is an exciting opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in designing communication and electronic warfare systems.  Leidos provides design, development, modeling and simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing of advanced electronic system and various antennas.

Primary Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be energetic, eager to learn and comfortable working in a peer-to-peer environment.  We’re looking for an individual with an acumen for radio frequency (RF) and antenna engineering.  Specific assignments include:
• Modeling & simulation and hands-on hardware testing/debugging
• Participate in designing, developing and testing sophisticated electronics hardware
• Test RF and analog/digital components and subassemblies and verify compliance with design documentation
• Create design specification documents, schematics, BOMs and printed wiring board layout instructions.
• Select COTS components based on analysis of specifications, availability, cost and reliability
• Model and simulate various electrical designs and then transition to proto-typing and testing designs
• Design RF and digital/analog test fixtures to verify and test prototype circuit card assemblies

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must be currently pursuing a bachelor or masters degree in electrical engineering or physics from an accredited college or university.  GPA of 3.0 or greater is required. 
• Proficiency with MS Office Products
• Must have the ability of obtaining a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidate with knowledge of or experience in working with simulation tools such as HFSS, Microwave Office, Matlab, or similar.
• Senior level is preferred by will consider Junior

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
