Senior Database ETL Engineer

What does a successful Senior Database ETL Engineer do at Fiserv?
You will be part of the engineering team which builds the Marketplace Boarding platform, designed to deliver innovations through simple, fast integrations. You will be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of back-end databases and data warehouses, and develop ETL Scripts using state of the art technology.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and implement new business requirements by and designing and developing data model, physical database objects like stored procedures, views etc.
• Develop ETL processes to ingest data from multiple applications in Snowflake, AWS RDS using Snow-pipe, AWS services like Glue, Amazon DMS etc.
• Participate in code reviews, bug fixes, and performance optimization to ensure the highest level of quality and performance for our applications
• Utilize secondary skills in database management to optimize database schemas, write efficient queries, procedures, and ensure data integrity
• Work closely with frontend and service developers located globally to build or maintain applications
• Manage end-to-end delivery of all assigned work by collaborating with other database developers
• Investigate root cause for production issues and provide timely resolution to incidents

What you will need to have:

• 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining application databases and data warehouse
• 6+ years of experience with ETL process using MySQL packages, procedures, shell scripts, python
• 6+ years of experience with SQL and performance tuning
• 3+ years of experience with Snowflake, AWS RDS, Glue and other ETL tools
• 2+ years of experience in Agile methodologies
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, or work experience or military experience

What would be great to have:

• Experience in data science, machine learning, and data modelling tools
• Mapping of relational entities to use cases or business requirements and assisting in the development of data services
• Create and manage an array of data design deliverables including data models, data diagrams, data flows and corresponding data dictionary documentation
• Ability to make architectural decisions that enable scalability of data platforms
• Experience in payments industry
