About the role

Description

The University of Chicago's Adult Epilepsy Center in the Department of Neurology is seeking epileptologists or clinical neurophysiologists with EEG specialization to join its department at 100% clinical effort with renewable terms of up to two years. Appointees will join a growing neurosciences service line, which includes the opportunity to practice at University of Chicago’s expanding clinical locations both in and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park. In addition, the appointees may participate in the remote EEG service to partnering hospitals. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.

The Neuroscience program continues to expand to cover Chicago’s western suburbs where UChicago plans to open a 4-bed epilepsy monitoring unit and expand a multi-specialty outpatient clinic. The Adult Epilepsy Center includes an inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit, and outpatient and inpatient EEG.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) have completed a residency program in neurology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, 3) be fellowship trained in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology, including advanced EEG monitoring and surgical evaluation, 4) be board certified or eligible in neurology, and 5) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.

To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago’s Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: http://apply.interfolio.com/145036.
