The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Job Description:
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator in the Clinical Trials Unit.
The Administrative Coordinator provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), working closely with CTU leadership, medical staff, and research physicians to ensure efficient operations within a dynamic clinical research environment. This role is responsible for coordinating medical staff committee functions, managing the credentialing process, and serving as a system administrator for research-related databases and tools. The coordinator also supports travel logistics, expense reporting, and scheduling, contributing to the overall success of clinical research activities and medical staff operations.
Major Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to CTU leadership and research physicians, including calendar management, correspondence, and document preparation.
Coordinate medical staff committee functions, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and tracking follow-up actions.
Manage the credentialing process for th medical staff and research physicians, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
Serve as system administrator for relevant databases and tools (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov), maintaining accurate records and supporting data entry and reporting.
Oversee logistics such as travel coordination, expense reporting, and publication of the monthly physician on-call schedule.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree in business administration, health sciences or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare, academic, or clinical research environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
