WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
As leader of the business operations and strategy team, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing solutions for Box Engineering's most complex business problems. You will design processes to materially impact the organization's ability to execute as it scale. This role is at the core of how the engineering org operates and communicates and serves as a global point of contact for engineering. Whether it’s being the voice of engineering in strategizing All Hands content or in operational discussions with Product, the Chief of Staff is a key enabler of engineering’s ability to execute against it’s ambitious goals. As a team leader of program managers, operations mangers, and executive assistant’s, this function also provides a strategic vision for an operational team focused on making engineering it’s most successful.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work with the SVP, Engineering and Engineering Leadership Team to drive the organization’s global operations and processes with the utmost efficiency
- Lead and manage the Engineering Business Operations & Strategy team (business operations managers, program managers, executive assistants)
- Lead and/or project manage key initiatives and strategic projects across the org
- Work with partners across the Engineering and Product org and company to drive annual and quarterly strategic & fiscal planning processes
- Facilitate and drive recurring operational reviews, QBRs, OKR processes, an strategic leadership team meetings
- Own the Engineering Leadership Team operations, including bi-weekly meetings and quarterly team offsite
- Partner closely with finance, recruiting, people partners, technical program management, product operations, and other chief of staffs to identify and address areas for improvement in operations and processes
- Manage SVP and Build communications through weekly newsletters, quarterly All Hands, Board decks, etc.
- Special projects as needed
WHO YOU ARE
- BA/BS required, MBA preferred
- 7+ years of experience in program management, operations, strategy, or finance
- 2+ years team management
- Strategic, logical, process-oriented thinker with the ability to develop, articulate, and execute long-term plans
- Strong program / project management capabilities, including collaboratively managing cross-functional processes and business operations at scale
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus among diverse leaders
- Highly-proactive, organized, self-starter capable of effectively managing several projects with strategic prioritization
- Strong analytical skills with ability to tell a story with data and insights; excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners
- A strong ability to adjust well to changing circumstances and course correct on short notice
- An entrepreneurial, curious and learning mindset in identifying and driving 10x outcomes
- Low ego with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous environment
