Your New Role
The WBD Corporate tax team is looking for a senior manager in Tax Accounting to join our Global Tax Reporting team. This position reports to the VP, SEC tax reporting and is primarily responsible for the company’s quarterly and annual global income tax provision, 10-Q / 10-K income tax disclosure, and tax accounting analysis for merger & acquisition or restructuring transactions.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Ensure the accuracy and reasonableness of the global ASC 740 income tax provision calculations and the income tax account balances on the company’s financial statements, such as current and deferred tax expenses, current income tax payable/receivable, deferred taxes, valuation allowance assessment, and FIN48 tax reserve accruals.
- Manage the quarterly / annual consolidation global ASC 740 income tax provision calculation and the preparation of income tax footnote disclosures that support the company’s financial statements
- Provide in-depth income tax accounting analysis and strategic guidance on potential financial statement impact for both internal and external transactions.
- Oversee the enhancement of process efficiency in the company's co-sourcing partnership with EY, aiming to align and improve the income tax provision process company-wide following the Warner Media acquisition.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide guidance on income tax accounting matters.
- Respond to inquiries from management, internal colleagues, and external auditors regarding income tax accounting issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 8 years of progressive relevant tax experience in public accounting and/or a large corporate environment.
- Income tax accounting focused experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance.
- CPA preferred.
- Proficiency in complex tax concepts applicable to corporations.
- Extensive experience with ASC 740 preparation and analysis.
- Extensive experience with ASC 805 business combinations tax accounting analysis.
- Proficiency in OneSource Tax Provision software, OneSource Uncertain Tax Positions software, tax research tools, Microsoft Office, and SAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, demonstrating a hands-on approach.
- Ability to respond to inquiries from management, internal colleagues, and external auditors.
- Strong multitasking skills, the ability to work independently, self-motivated and demonstrate strong judgement and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, as well as project management and interpersonal skills. The ability to prioritize and balance requests in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $109,900.00 - $204,100.00 salary per year.
