Our Engineering Intern employees are high-tech liaisons, using technical skill and problem solving acumen to assist both internal and external customers with pre-sale and post-sale technical support. As part of our technical sales team, you will gain extensive product knowledge through training and develop long-term professional relationships by working with a collaborative, skillful team of people; gaining exposure to the many facets of engineering through our wide and varied customer base.
General Summary:
After extensive automation product training, the Engineering Co-op is responsible for providing pre-sale and post-sale technical phone support to external customers on applications that utilize Rockwell Automation products. Co-op students also work towards developing professional relationships with the key accounts which is a direct correlation to the objectives of the Sales Engineers. As a developmental tool, co-op employees assist McNaughton-McKay engineers with various internal and external application projects to expand their technical knowledge and offer more hands-on exposure to automation products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assists customers, Inside Sales, and Account Managers with technical questions
• Acts as a technical phone support representative, providing customers with basic application assistance
• Proactively sells phone support contracts and software update contracts to assigned accounts
• Creates and updates step-by-step procedures guides for customers and internal use
• Maintains the company’s automation equipment that is on display in the demonstration room
• Uses demonstration hardware inventory to develop ‘proofs of concept’
• Assists engineering team with hands-on lab equipment setup for customer workshops and seminars
• Assists engineers with project work as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Knowledge of MS operating systems and MS Office

Work schedules are varied and up to 40 hours per week. This position is compensated based on an hourly rate.
