IT Security Officer

The IT Security Officer position will be responsible for ensuring the company’s computers, networks, and cloud services are secured following best practices against malware, unauthorized access, and data loss, as well as breach response, policy/procedure development, and implementation.  

Role & Responsibilities

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Monitor networks and systems for vulnerabilities and unapproved access, proactively to avoid potential exploitations.   (Intrusion Detection)
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to protect the organization from malware, cyber attacks and any other threats both written and systematic.   
• Monitor current risks, trends, and solutions within the IT security/threat environment with the intent to adjust, communicate, or respond as necessary.   
• Working with the IT team to ensure adequate user access controls are in place and effective.  (MDM & EDR)
• Define and recommend measures of information protection to discover classify and protect sensitive information whether at rest of transfer.  (Data Loss Prevention)
• Organize regular security audits, documenting results and recommendations in response to the various requirements and responsibilities that we fall under, including local, state, federal and international laws.  Including HIPAA and PCI.   
• Work with staff, departments, contractors, and cloud providers to ensure security measures are in place and adhered to.
• In the event of a security breach, coordinate both the investigation and mitigation of the damage.  (Disaster Recovery)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• This position requires a thorough understanding of IT security practices and the skills for management and implementation within an Office 365 environment, a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to communicate and interact with different departments and people of varying understanding.

• Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
• Degree in computer science focused on cyber security and information assurance preferred   
• Hands on experience with Azure/Office 365 and the Microsoft suite of security tools is a must.  We are effectively a “Microsoft shop”. 
• Have an understanding of HIPAA regulations and the ePHI security practices and responsibilities that they entail.
