Software Engineer III, Mobile, Android, Messaging

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.
  
• 2 years of experience with software development in Kotlin languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience working in anti-spam, trust and safety, or related product integrity domains.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  
• Collaborate on the end-to-end lifecycle of on-device ML models, from initial implementation to final launch on Google Messages and RCS network.
• Support the ongoing health and maintenance of our spam protection infrastructure by monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues across both backend services and/or on-device components.
