Configuration Management Team Leader

ST Engineering MRAS is a world-leading manufacturer of complex aerostructures including nacelle systems and specialized structural components of the airframe. It supplies and supports these products for engine makers, airplane manufacturers and aircraft operators. Located on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.4-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres – where the company and its predecessors have designed, built, and equipped civil and military aircraft for over 95 years. In addition to MRAS' design, development and manufacturing capabilities, the company provides technical support, spares, and other services for its products. 

 

Job Summary:

This role involves leading the configuration management (CM) team in addition to performing CM activities and managing configurations of nacelles and aerostructures throughout the product lifecycle.

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the configuration management team and provide guidance in the maintenance and implementation of the configuration management processes, lead continuous process improvement efforts, coordinate prioritization to meet program and business goals, coach and mentor junior team members.
• Provide configuration management of nacelle and aerostructure assemblies and components.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to configuration management plans in support of the design development and production processes.
• Interface with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal functions to establish configuration baselines.
• Coordinate and track configuration changes and compliantly process engineering changes.
• Chair program Configuration Change Boards to review change requests, determine change classifications and impacts to the business, and drive the engineering change process.
• Execute product processes to ensure configuration control throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate, perform and support configuration management audits.
• Generate, control, and maintain documentation of configuration management data relative to configuration changes and audits.
• Drive team to meet the KPIs for Configuration Management Processes.
• Review configuration management process effectiveness and efficiency and drive continual process improvement with internal functions as well as with customers and suppliers, to meet product and program requirements.
• Facilitate and ensure proper implementation of CM process in Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) system.

 

 

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, business, IT or Information/Data Management with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated progression from an individual contributor to a lead role within the configuration management team.
