What are we looking for?

The BCBA will provide Therapeutic Consultation services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) enrolled in Virginia’s Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers, consistent with DBHDS and DMAS regulations. Services include functional behavior assessments, development of individualized behavior support plans (BSPs), training of direct support staff, and ongoing monitoring and data-driven adjustments to ensure the person’s behavioral and quality-of-life goals are met in the least restrictive, most person-centered manner.

Success measures include plan implementation fidelity, decreased restrictive interventions, increased skill acquisition, family/staff satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

The hiring range for this position is negotiable, depending on location and experience.

Qualifications

Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) aligned with Virginia HCBS waiver requirements and positive behavioral support frameworks.
  • Deliver services in the individual’s natural settings (residential, day, or community) to ensure generalization and relevance.
  • Provide staff training and modeling to ensure implementation fidelity of BSPs.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and assist with person-centered planning and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of behavior interventions and revise plans as needed, using objective data.
