Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Inpatient Clinical Dietitian works collaboratively the Food Service Department to coordinate the provision of consistent access to nutritional support and care for inpatients and community based patients if requested. Monitors performance for consistent assessment of inpatients at nutritional risk, for recommendation of appropriate nutritional interventions, and for provision of comprehensive nutrition education on an individualized basis as well as providing these services themselves. Works collaboratively within the organization to maintain standards for nutrition education materials.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Requires current licensing as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related health care field.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of modern principles and practices in Dietetics.
Skills:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and hospital personnel.
Basic computer skills: word processing, order entry, data management.
Able to prioritize work assignments and pay close attention to detail and organization.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, telephone and written communication skills.
