Job Description


AECOM an exciting opportunity available for Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based in our Atlanta offices.   This position offers a flexible/hybrid work schedule.

The position will include responsibility for development of discipline specific design execution plans for assigned projects.  Position will be responsible for completing projects on schedule and within the established budgets and for ensuring that all discipline specific contract requirements have been met. 

Projects include tanker truck receipt, marine vessel receipt, aboveground and underground transfer pipelines, aboveground and underground horizontal and vertical storage tanks, and aircraft and tanker truck issue systems.  Projects will also include ground vehicle refueling systems such as fleet and retail service stations. 

Will work and coordinate with multidiscipline engineering teams including civil, structural, and electrical engineers.

The typical responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E packag.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
• Prepares technical specification sections
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience working with and coordinating with multidiscipline design teams
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Fuel system, process engineering, and/or oil and gas design experience
  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Ability to travel one week per month inside the US and internationally
  • Experience and ability to use AutoCad
  • Hold professional engineer license in at least one state
