Requirements

 


Role: Snow Cat Operator/Groomer - Levels I

Status: FT Seasonal, Hourly

Shift - Swing Shift (3pm-10pm), Night Shift (10pm - 6am)

Reporting To: Slopes and Snow Quality Manager


The role of our Cat Operators/Groomers is to provide safe and efficient grooming of all Powder Mountain trails and slopes. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Professional experience operating a Snow Cat - preferred
  • Professional experience operating heavy machinery such as a backhoe/grader.
  • Abide to all safety training, certifications and standards outlined by Powder Mountain.
  • In depth knowledge of Powder Mountains public and private terrain, as well as side country terrain.
  • Be aware of fixed obstacles (Trees, Buildings, Rope lines, Trail signs and Maps)
  • Communicate effectively using 2-way radio systems.
  • Learn and gain experience in Grooming
  • Operate under close supervision
  • Minimize trail closures thru use of preventative measures.
  • Be meticulous about snow quality and grooming lines.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on snow cats and log any repairs or damages.

Job Requirements:

  • Preferred 1 to 3 years' experience in snowcat operations.
  • Grooms Green and Blue runs only
  • Ability to cut and delineate sides of groomed trail. - preferred
  • Maintain ramps and terrain park features
  • Ability to groom advanced terrain - preferred
  • Stay alert at all times and excellent vision.
  • Understand how to complete Pre and Post shift equipment checks
  • Work nights, weekends, holidays, and on call.
  • Desire to work at 9,000ft in inclement weather.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functioning teams
  • Reliable transportation, 4x4 vehicle or commitment to using UTA.
  • HS Diploma or Professional Experience
