Job Description

We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education.

We are seeking Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields.   

Courses meet three times a week for each eight-week session. The interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment.

Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Course of instruction: 

HUMN303 – Introduction to the Humanities:

Organized as a seminar in cultural history, this course develops
responses to representative works of literature, history, philosophy, music
and a wide range of visual and performing arts. Students analyze and evaluate creative works in areas such as painting, poetry, drama, dance, film and architecture. They discover the personal significance of these forms and connections among works, genres, styles and movements. Discussions, essays, oral presentations and visits to cultural venues prepare students for more advanced inquiry in subsequent courses. 

Responsibilities:

• Develops and provides students with an approved Chamberlain University syllabus that follows a template, and includes the terminal course objectives.
• Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
• Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
• Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
• Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
• Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
• Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

• Earned a master's or doctorate degree in Humanities with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in the area of Humanities, Art History, Music Studies, Theater Arts, Literature, Film Studies with a historical or cultural emphasis
• Have at least 15-credit hours of online higher education teaching experience 
• Possess genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
• Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
