This role ensures that coding supports medical necessity, optimizes reimbursement, and reflects the quality of care provided. Preferred Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred. Required Skills:
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding, excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities. Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Certified Home Health Coder (HCS-D) or equivalent (e.g., CCS, CPC with home health experience) Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:
CPC, CCSP, CPMA through AAPC and/or CCS-P, CCS, RHIT or RHIA through AHIMA
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of home health coding experience.
Preferred Experience:
Strong understanding of OASIS documentation and PDGM.
