The Stock Clerk - Warehouse job is available with the City of Fort Worth in the Water Department Field Operations Division. The Field Operations Division is a 24/7 operation and is the largest division of the Water Department and an integral function of the maintenance of the City of Fort Worth’s infrastructure and currently looking to fill vacancy for a Warehouse Stock Clerk The ideal candidate/s will provide support to the Field Operations division by identifying, ordering, receiving, stocking, and issuing parts and materials; picks up and delivers parts, supplies and materials; maintains stock records, logs and files; and performs a variety of clerical duties in assigned area of responsibility. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one
- Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain forklift certification (if not already certified)
- Availability to work a 24-hour rotating call-back schedule
- Ability to pass a physical exam and drug screening. Compliance with City of Fort Worth attendance policies and personnel regulations
- Ability to Pass a Physical and Drug Screen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current forklift certification
- Experience working in a large-scale warehouse
- Experience in procurement or purchasing
- Strong customer service background and interpersonal skills
The Stock Clerk - Warehouse job responsibilities include:
- Identify, order, receive, stock, and issue parts and materials
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and inventory files
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication
- Assist customers at the warehouse service counter
- Pick up and deliver materials and supplies
- Perform physical inventories and help maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Operate a forklift to load/unload materials
- Review catalogs and technical documents to locate parts and vendors
- Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes and place orders
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are met at all times
- Perform additional duties as needed
Physical Demands:
Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects
Working Conditions:
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
