South College Atlanta seeks candidates for an online adjunct English faculty member for our Winter 2025 quarter beginning January 20, 2025. Candidate's main responsibility will be to support the Atlanta Writing Lab. Candidates that demonstrate strong performance may have the opportunity to teach online courses in subsequent quarters. Successful candidates will have a minimum of a master’s degree in English, and preference will be given to candidates who have successfully taught English Composition. A viable candidate would be flexible with accepting online appointments, as well as on-ground courses at Atlanta Campus, as needed. The position will report directly to the Department Chair of General Education.

Requirements

  • Applicants must provide a current resume or CV and a copy of complete unofficial transcripts for graduate and undergraduate degrees from an accredited institution. 
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree in English (Terminal degree preferred) with the successful completion of at least 18 hours of directly related graduate coursework (18 graduate-level hours in ENG/ENGL). Preference will be given to applicants with prior successful online teaching.
  • Candidate is responsible for supporting the Writing Lab and answering and documenting incoming requests submitted to the Atlanta Writing Lab within 24 hours.
  • Candidate will occasionally be asked to teach an online English course.
