What you'll do...

• Lead and Inspire: Manage and mentor a team of data scientists to deliver actionable insights and scalable solutions.
• Drive Assortment Strategy: Develop models and frameworks to identify assortment gaps, inform tactical go-gets, and strengthen Walmart’s competitive position.
• Customer Value Proposition: Use advanced analytics to enhance customer experience and optimize product offerings.
• Build Causal Models: Design and implement causal inference models to understand drivers of business performance.
• Develop Systems: Create data-driven systems that are actionable and integrated into business workflows.
• Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to align data science initiatives with strategic goals.
• Leverage Technology: Utilize Python, R, SQL, and modern data engineering pipelines to process complex datasets.
• Innovate with GenAI: Explore generative AI applications to enhance predictive modeling and decision-making.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven ability to lead high-performing data science teams.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, causal inference, and advanced analytics.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience designing scalable data systems and engineering pipelines.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering business-impacting solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.
• Experience with generative AI and advanced machine learning techniques.
• Background in eCommerce, retail, or large-scale business operations.
• Familiarity with building data engineering pipelines and complex system design.
