Accountant

Description

The accountant will be responsible for daily accounting operations as well as oversight of the Accounts Receivable team. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely invoicing. The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of GAAP procedures, have strong communication skills, be a leader, have strong organizational skills, and possess self-drive.

Requirements

• Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
• Work with field operations, sales, and other departments to ensure invoicing processes are streamlined, accurate, timely and documented
• Coordinate with sales and field operations to resolve billing disputes 
• Train and supervise accounts receivable staff, providing guidance and performance evaluations
• Cash receipts posting, projections and analysis
• Perform various general ledger account reconciliations to include but not limited to cash, credit cards, accounts receivable, sales tax payable and intercompany revenue/expense
• Assist in monthly closings and financial analysis 
• Generate and post bi-weekly payroll entries
• Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures
• May perform other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor

SKILLS:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities required. This role will interact daily with internal and external customers by phone and email. Commitment to quality communication and customer service are vital to succeed in the role and company culture
• Understanding of general accounting procedures

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• Prior ERP/accounting software knowledge
• 1-3 year of supervisor experience preferred
• 3-6 years in an accounting role required
