About the role

Job Description

Purpose

This position is responsible for the project workflow of New Store and Remodel/Reset process from inception to completion, including scope, budget, schedule, timeline, milestones, resource planning, raising red flags and approvals. The Project Manager New Stores & Visual Merchandising will facilitate and drive the on-time, on-budget delivery of New Store openings, Existing Store Remodels and Resets, and assist with Vendor Management.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  •  Three years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Experience working in a retail advertising or ad agency on creative projects a plus
  • Must have two or more years of project management software experience
  • Proven problem-solving and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Has exempt level experience involving various Project Management jobs
  • Experience in Project Management and budgeting
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass pre-employment background check

Essential Functions

Merchandising

  • Responsible for ensuring merchandising standards are being followed per the Visual Standards Guide, in each project assigned.
  • Ensures POP signage, price signs, and all other visual merchandising standards are met according to the Visual Standards Guide.
  • Ensure proper safety and operational standards are met by assisting in the store space planning process from the Block Plan, through Steel Set.
  • Responsible for in-field layout changes in signing and racking caused by on-site conditions.

Capital Projects:

  • Responsible for partnering in the CPAR process with the Project Manager, Budget Planning.
  • Create timelines for executable rollouts (ie. New Stores, Remodels and Resets – Design Center Updates, etc.), by collaborating with multiple departments personnel and ensuring their timelines are met.

Operations

  • Manages project calendars by partnering with the Project Manager New Stores and the Project Manager Existing Stores.
  • Based on the project calendar, manages Project Specialist staffing calendar and communicates back to Senior Director on any needs or concerns.
  • Create and manage a Project Request Form that ensures all due diligence is complete before passing on for next step of approval.

Finance/Accounting

  • Responsible for ensuring financial objectives are being met by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
  • Partners with Project Manager, Budget Planning to ensure invoice coding is accurate and tracks compliance to budget for all New Store, Remodels, and Resets assigned.
  • Communicates budget to actual spend to Project Manager, Budget Planning and Senior Director, New Stores and Visual Merchandising.

Administration

  • Recaps and communicates to responsible partners and department team, all updates on current and future projects.
  • Responds to emails and calls with 24 hours.
  • Properly documents walks, meetings, and updates that are then communicated back, to ensure alignment of the goal. This will aid in proper and timely follow up of tasks.
  • Properly tracks personal expenses and codes appropriately, on time, and within SOP guidelines.
  • Develops executable timelines to complete projects and communicates these to the Senior Director, New Stores & Visual Merchandising

Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)

  • This position is salaried exempt, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
  • Limited travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
