Joining the Medical Education and Physician Relations team at Medtronic means becoming part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life. Our team plays a critical role in advancing that mission by shaping the future of Surgical through best in class, evidence based medical education delivered in close partnership with key opinion leaders, societies, and faculty. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains a deep understanding of the science behind our products.
- Develops competitive intelligence in our product space.
- Drives education and outreach for safe and effective use of our products.
- Develops, implements and oversees integrated evidence-based medical affairs strategic plans for relevant Medtronic organizations.
- Utilizes advanced subject matter expertise to provide medical input to various functions (General Management, Global Strategy & Portfolio Management, Business Development & Licensing, Research & Development, & Marketing) and organizational units to facilitate insightful decision-making and enable achievement of business objectives.
- Ensures effective objective value propositions are developed and articulated for Medtronic technologies to stakeholders (patients, health care providers, payers, government agencies, health technology assessment organizations, public) through appropriate channels.
Develops competitive intelligence in our product space.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 7 years of clinical or commercial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Nice to Have
- Clinical or commercial experience working with surgeons, nurses, multidisciplinary care teams at hospitals, surgery centers, ambulatory surgery centers, etc.
Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Education, or a related scientific field
Experience partnering with KOLs, professional societies, or external faculty in procedure‑based or medical device education
Ability to translate complex clinical and scientific data into clear, compelling educational and value narratives
Experience collaborating cross‑functionally within a matrixed, global organization (e.g., R&D, Strategy, Marketing, Market Access)
Passion for education innovation, evidence generation, and continuous improvement in how healthcare professionals are trained.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
