Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineer

Job Description:

KeyBank is seeking an experienced and skilled Full Stack Software Developer with several years of coding experience who can learn quickly and work well both independently and as part of a team for an Enterprise Service Application. Ideally at least 5 years of Javascript React and Spring Boot Java experience with ability to learn and contribute quickly. This is a Developer position for application development working in a development and testing delivery squad. The application is 10 years old, large, complex, fast paced with a team of 30+ engineers across multiple delivery and support squads. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding and experience with full-stack development preferred, with prior hands-on experience coding both front end UI and back-end services, or equivalent ability and track record of learning and adapting to new languages, and frameworks quickly. Candidate must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Projects will entail a variety of new feature development, modifying existing functions and maintaining legacy code as well as designing and implementing significant re-architecting and rewriting of large monolithic code base as we modernize the application in a scalable way.

Key Responsibilities:

• Owns the development, implementation, assessment, and support of one or more components of an environment, application, or platform.
• Independently develops clean, maintainable, testable code for work assigned; performs peer code reviews.
• Participates in the overall health, performance, and availability and actively works resolution of system and client experience impacts for one or more environments, applications, or platforms.
• Independently develops and sets best practices for developing clean, maintainable, testable code for work assigned; performs peer code reviews.
• Build, maintain and restructure/re-write in-house API integrations.
• Design and implement front-end solutions to enhance user experience.
• Write scalable, clean, maintainable, and efficient code, as well as both independently and collaboratively defines and sets best practices for developing clean, maintainable, testable code.
• Creates technical documentation, specifications, and project artifacts for developing code.
• Design, implement and scale reusable components, code or libraries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system integrations and front-end development.
• Execute and guide others to design, develop and deploy robust, scalable and secure software solutions in compliance with enterprise standards.
• Lead end to end development from User interface to server-side logic to database management for the many integrations and functions the team contributes to.
• Hands on development, root cause analysis, defect analysis as needed.
• Applies, and proactively prepares to ensure proper security standards for code development. 
• Submits and Participates in Peer code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards, quality and improve team skills.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to ensure system scalability, reliability, availability.
• Proven track record of successful collaboration with peers and developers within the team as well as from adjacent tech teams.
• Work through ambiguity to provide analysis and estimates for continuous delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple environments and code repositories.
• Experience working with 24/7 High Availability Platinum applications with 99.9% uptime requirements.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Embraces mentorship and training from senior engineers.
• Provides continuous improvement ideas to reduce expenses and/or improve efficiency.

Experience Required:

• Proficient in Java with back-end Spring Framework, Front-end JavaScript with React, RESTful and SOAP web services, and relational database systems (SQL, Oracle).
• Proven experience in designing and optimizing system components to align with business requirements, technical specifications, and quality of service (QoS) standards.
• Strong knowledge of secure coding standards, with hands-on experience in identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities throughout the software development
