The Fixtures department at the Otis Service Center in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a electro-mechanical technician for its Fixtures operations.  The hours are 2nd shift: 3:00PM-11:30PM.

On a typical day you will: 

• Following all EH&S and safety policies and procedures

• Assembly, wiring, and harnessing tasks on a cross section of electronic components such as the following:

  • Complex assemblies

  • Sub-assemblies

  • Cutting

  • Crimping

  • Point-to-point wiring

  • Harness installation

• Adhere to OTIS three Absolutes SAFETY, ETHICS and QUALITY

What You Will Need to be Successful: 

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• A certificate from a trade school or 3-5 years of relative experience is preferred.

Physical Demand:

• If an item weighs more than 50 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devises and/or techniques

• Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception

• Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Experience/Qualifications

• Must have a safety mindset including the ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.

• Must be able to adhere to assigned work schedule, including start time and annual inventory.

• Must have good manual dexterity, the ability to read and interpret complex drawings, prints, and wiring schematics.  

• The successful candidate should have good interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills as well as possess a positive attitude with the ability to work independently.

• The successful candidate should be able to accommodate changes in production and work schedules in order to meet deadlines.

• Must possess demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electronic assembly and wiring is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 47K - 50K . Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
