Senior Software Engineer

The Modernization and Engineering Efficiency (MEE) team is dedicated to creating advanced security systems software that prioritizes performance, maintainability, and high quality. This team also guarantees that all security teams are equipped with cutting-edge engineering systems, tools, and processes, enabling them to operate with maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer who wants opportunities for broad and deep impact and for whom efficiency and quality are top priorities.

Responsibilities Include:

• Partner with teams from across Microsoft, architecting and implementing solutions deeply integrated into the security stack
• Identify inefficiencies in code, tooling, processes and infrastructure and build systems and solutions to address them
• Foster a healthy and inclusive team environment

Qualifications

Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  •  OR equivalent experience.

• Windows systems programming experience.
• Rust experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
