About our Support Functions

A global organization. It’s not just those in our industrial sites and technical centers that are vital to Umicore’s growth. Across our support functions we ensure that we continue to grow and evolve – whether it’s by making sure our decisions are commercially viable, enhancing our reputation, building new customer relationships or finding the right people who can build on what we’ve already achieved. The variety of our work means we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in.

What you will be doing

As a Planning & Reporting analyst, you will support the business by transforming raw data into valuable insights. You will work end-to-end on EPM projects: collecting business requirements, data transformation and modelling. The role also includes supporting existing applications: troubleshooting, fixing bugs, managing and reporting on access and authorisation, and implementing change requests.
As a Business Analyst, your initial focus will be on growing in the role of Anaplan Model builder and later on extending your expertise and responsibility to the broader Umicore Enterprise Reporting and Planning solution components.

FUNCTION

In our global IT BI Centre of Excellence, you will work on end-to-end solutions in the area of Enterprise Performance Management applications (consolidation, reporting and FP&A). As a Planning & Reporting Solutions Analyst at Umicore, you will work on 2 main tracks.

Track 1: You are an Anaplan Model Builder and in this role you are responsible for Data Modelling of some corporate use cases and support Business Unit use cases.

As an Anaplan model builder, you will be responsible for
- Capturing, translating and converting business requirements into clear data models and datasets.
- Designing, building, managing and maintaining the new and existing data models required by the business to support them in their decision-making process (based on your forecasting and budgeting models). Ensure consistency and integration between the different models and the different business requirements formulated by the different domain managers.
- Skillfully adapt the existing models into new and improved models to support the business and changing market, business and other external conditions.
- Act as the Anaplan data and data model specialist by delivering data models based on the overall understanding of the business, their requirements and their short/long term vision. By creating accurate, flexible and timely data models, you will deliver the information the business needs to guide them towards their vision and future challenges.
- As part of the Corporate IT team, you will help both BUs achieve the next level of expertise in data modelling and the various Anaplan capabilities.

Track 2: You will become a technical EPM analyst in the context of the broader Corporate Reporting and Planning solutions, assisting the platform lead to support the Business Units and Corporate Departments.

- You will grow and use technical skills as a solution expert in the domain of data warehouse, reporting and ETL with a focus on Enterprise Performance Management (including tools such as Cognos Controller, Cognos Analytics, Cognos Planning Analytics, Anaplan, Anaplan Connect and SQL Server).
- You work in Umicore's IS team and manage incoming demand for enhancements to existing EPM applications through release management where possible and/or direct action if needed.
- You support business requirements in a timely and efficient manner, demonstrating a sense of urgency, tenacity and commitment to quality and excellence.
- You work closely with project managers, business key users and other analysts to design, develop and test new Performance Management applications. Working at Umicore headquarters gives you the opportunity to be in direct contact with key Group and Business Unit stakeholders.
- Starting from design, new forms and reports are developed and documented according to development guidelines and best practices, in order to obtain a performant and reliable application.
- Test scenarios are developed together with the user.
