The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a Project Manager within the Project Management Office (PMO) under the Development/Sustaining Project Management group (D2410) - working on COMET Change Requests (CCR) and Engineering Service Requests (ESR)
- Provide Project Management oversight and assist in all aspects of projects.
- Provide oversight and assist with the management of project scope, risks, budgets and schedule changes.
- Provide oversight when assigned the responsibilities of establishing new project teams in support of COMET identified requirements focusing on ensuring project management standardization and resourcing across the COMET Project Portfolio.
- Demonstrate ability to lead matrixed, cross functional teams.
- Demonstrate understanding of project scheduling development and resource loading to capture all work performed in executing the project life-cycle.
- Provide Project Management oversight and assist with the preparation of project artifacts to include, but not limited to project planning, project status reports, project briefs, cost reporting, variances, forecasting, metrics, etc.
- Host/facilitate project team meetings.
- Coordinate project assessments and generate necessary Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates and informal ROMs (iROM).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Here's What You'll Need:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering from an accredited institution or technical equivalent degree with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and at least four (4) years of relevant experience.

Job Requirements
· Experience participating in project management activities as a team lead or core team member.
· Experience with ground hardware design/build projects, hardware certification, operational readiness, and/or project cost accounting highly desired.
· If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
Physical Requirements
· May be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting.
