Compensation includes a base salary of $171,800.00 - $286,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.Job Description
The Strategic Planning Senior Director reports to the AVP, Business Process Design and Improvement, with dotted line to SVP, Dealer and Lender Solutions and has responsibility for driving operational initiatives / programs. The role is responsible for building, implementing, and evolving the operational strategies and processes to prioritize and execute key leadership objectives. The individual is responsible for partnering with cross-functional Retail executives (including the Retail Leadership Team), and Cox Automotive boundary partners, to ensure packaged and seamless execution of business priorities. This role is also responsible for partnering with the SVP of Dealer and Lender Solutions with running key leadership meetings, offsites, and writing executive updates.
The ideal candidate is a big picture thinker with the finesse to adapt and influence across a dynamic set of leaders in a fast-paced environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Translate Retail strategic direction into clear, short-term and mid-term operating initiatives and objectives, which are used by the Operations team to drive execution and accountability.
- Work within the Leadership Team to develop and refine the Dealer & Lender Solutions strategy and ensure alignment and execution.
- Drive alignment with cross-functional partners (Product & Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, People Solutions) on priorities and individual product objectives, and interdependencies critical to achieving the business strategy.
- Deliver thoughtful and thorough communication to ensure clarity of the strategic agenda.
Program / Project Management
- Drive execution of strategic initiatives within the business.
- Manage specific strategic programs / projects as the need arises, supporting Lender & Dealer Solutions Operations leaders.
- Work closely with business partners to drive clarity of vision and push the projects / programs forward, proactively identifying if there is misalignment or programs are off track.
- Define projects, scope, and success measures.
- Utilize strategic thinking and analyses to guide recommendations.
- Lead Retail-specific efforts, as needed, such as participating in councils, leading initiatives spanning multiple Retail areas, and compiling status reports
Leadership
- Be a thought partner and member of the Dealer & Lender Solutions leadership team.
- Contribute to content development for quarterly offsites and key ad-hoc executive meetings.
- Manage agendas for key leadership meetings (e.g., bi-monthly staff meetings, senior leadership meetings on key projects).
- Work closely with the Dealer & Lender Solutions Communications team to ensure strategic direction is clearly communicated in All Hands, Quarterly Updates, etc.
- Support the annual budgeting process working closely with Finance and CAPG partners.
- Represent Dealer & Lender Solutions in cross-Retail or cross-Cox Automotive projects (e.g., unified Customer Experience, Continuous Improvement mindset).
- Write executive updates for key Dealer & Lender Solutions presentations.
Qualifications
- BA or BS Degree with 12+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (MS + 10 years of experience or Ph.D. + 7 years of experience or 16 years of experience with no degree).
- 7+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred.
- MBA/Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of project and program management experience.
- 5 years of exposure to P&L financial management with working knowledge of budgeting concepts.
- Comfort challenging, in a respectful manner, positions or perspectives using both analysis and judgement.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
