Job Description:
M&A Business Analyst
We are seeking a M&A Business Analyst with a strong background in Accounting or Finance, particularly in an investment banking, corporate development, or private equity environment to join our M & A team. The primary responsibilities of this role are to perform in-depth analyses to evaluate acquisition opportunities, track our active diligence workstreams, and maintain internal M&A reporting materials. This role will work closely with our Vice President of M&A in evaluating our potential acquisition targets and assisting with overall deal execution. An ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and possesses strong technical skills.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
- Support VP of M&A with in-depth analyses of key financial and operational data
- Learn, understand, and analyze construction project accounting, work-in-progress schedules, and other industry-specific data
- Assist Vice President of M&A with critical workstreams, such as organizing and reviewing diligence-related files, maintaining diligence process trackers, updating Crete’s M&A pipeline, and drafting acquisition summary materials for Crete’s investment committee
- Communicate clearly and effectively across Crete’s functional teams (accounting, integration, operations, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role
- Basic GAAP accounting knowledge
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint (pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling, formatting, chart-building, etc.)
- Self-motivated and able to execute in a fast-paced environment
- Works independently and is a dynamic, proactive problem solver
- Eagerness to learn and desire to take on responsibility
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to review and analyze financial statements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with team members
- Ability to interface at various levels within the organization
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
