Role description:
This role will form an integral part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) – Arcadis’ centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. Our GEC is made up of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across Romania, India and Philippines, providing Capability, Capacity and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.
The MEPF Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) in the GECs is comprised of cross-functional teams, that contribute to the development of innovative MEPF solutions that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Our ability to effectively manage projects, assess client needs, and provide technical guidance is crucial in delivering successful outcomes, using the most innovative way of doing computational design.
Role accountabilities:
- Do electrical engineering design, data and instrumentation design for process equipment, general lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution (up to 1kV), fire signaling systems, burglary and CCTV systems, with minimum guidance provided by an experienced engineer.
- Use 2D and 3D drafting/modelling software tools to create and design wiring and hook-up diagrams showing electrical, data and instrument connections to process equipment.
- Build proficiency in REVIT and other software used in the design process.
- Perform the tasks within the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
- Prepare reports and presentations as directed by senior engineers, line manager, or design manager.
- Estimating necessary budget, resource list and schedule for the entire electrical scope of the project.
- Create comprehensive engineering documents, including equipment specifications, reports, presentation (reports, 2D plans, schematics, equipment sections and elevations, connection details, schedules etc.).
- Attend relevant design and client meetings to gain a better understanding of the project and design work required, asking questions of the internal team as necessary.
- Follow company standards and procedures including design and checking.
- Ensure that Electrical designs meet safety and environmental regulations, sustanaibility and energy efficiencies regulations following industry standards and guidelines.
- Implement national/international standards in Electrical design as well as client demands and project specific requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (preferably low&high voltage or Building services.).
- Medium knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and calculation software (e.g. Dialux, Amtech, Caneco, Eplan, others).
- Medium English language skills.
- Eager to learn new capabilities and skills.
- Medium knowledge of norms and standards related to LV Electrical Design.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in electrical design for process equipment. Experience in buildings (power, lighting, earthing, data), system integrators and electrical panel manufacturing may also be considered.
- Candidate to have problem solving skills, creativity, to show proactivity and analytical skills.
- Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.

- Ability to coordinate projects (small and medium size) or small teams.
Nice to have:
- Master's degree in electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of electrical specialized software (Revit, ETAP, EPLAN, Amtech, Intelec, Dialux, Caneco etc.).
- Knowledge of command-and-control systems for motor starting.
- Experience in creating process and instrumentation diagrams, low voltage installations design (power, lighting, earthing, data, fire signaling, burglary, control access, CCTV etc.). Advanced English language skills.
- Candidate to show out-of-the box thinking in order to identify any opportunities for automation or innovation.
