Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%

These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job

The VP, Consumer Collections is a leadership role responsible for directing all aspects of consumer collections strategy, operations, and team performance across the Bank's non-real estate consumer lending portfolio. This executive oversees the recovery of delinquent and defaulted obligations in automobile loans, unsecured consumer loans, marine vessel loans, and the bank's emerging consumer credit card program.

This role is accountable for building and sustaining a high-performance collections organization, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement through data-informed decision-making and automated solutions where applicable. The VP, Consumer Collections partners closely with Consumer Portfolio Management, Loan Servicing, Legal, and Technology to align collections practices with enterprise goals and evolving portfolio dynamics.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading enterprise‑wide consumer collections strategy and execution across all stages of delinquency and recovery
  • Overseeing collections operations for auto, unsecured consumer, marine vessel, and credit card portfolios
  • Building, developing, and sustaining a high‑performance collections organization
  • Establishing clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability frameworks for internal teams and vendors
  • Driving continuous improvement through data‑informed decision‑making, analytics, and segmentation
  • Implementing automation and scalable solutions to improve efficiency, outcomes, and customer experience
  • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable consumer regulations, including FDCPA, UDAAP, FCRA, CFPB guidance, and state requirements
  • Partnering closely with Consumer Portfolio Management, Loan Servicing, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Technology
  • Aligning collections practices with enterprise objectives and evolving portfolio dynamics
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, delinquency trends, roll rates, recoveries, and loss metrics
  • Supporting audits, regulatory exams, and issue remediation related to collections activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in consumer collections, credit risk, or loan servicing, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
  • Deep knowledge of non‑real estate consumer lending products and collections regulations
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and scale high‑performing collections teams
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging data and technology to drive results
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment
