Job Description Summary

               

Lamb Weston is seeking a passionate and collaborative Food Scientist to join our Innovation team. In this role, you will design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, develop insights, and support the creation and commercialization of new products and technologies. You will contribute from project conception through production testing and potential launch. The ideal candidate brings experience developing protocols, work plans, and technical documentation.

Job Description

  • Act as a proactive self‑starter and take ownership of assigned project tasks.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting business needs and project timelines.
  • Design and execute experiments; analyze and summarize results for cross‑functional review.
  • Leverage consumer insights to conceptualize and develop product prototypes and processes.
  • Formulate new products to meet target ingredient statements, nutritional profiles, costs, and product attributes.
  • Apply sensory evaluation tools to optimize formulations internally and externally.
  • Develop and document manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Identify, design, and execute product quality, stability, cooking parameter, and safety testing protocols.
  • Drive cost‑saving opportunities through formulation or process improvement.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of hypotheses, methods, observations, and conclusions.
  • Partner with project managers to develop and maintain accurate project timelines.
  • Create product, ingredient, and processing specifications.
  • Support plant trials and startup activities for new product introductions.
  • Deliver compelling product presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Food Science or related field required.
  • 2+ years relevant work experience preferred.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
