What You will do

The Investment Operations & Innovation organization is part of PGIM Global Services and provides recordkeeping, accounting, reporting and technology services for the investment portfolios supporting the Insurance Companies. Additionally, we support all investment data for the Chief Investment Officer and the Chief Risk officer for Prudential.

The Mortgage Loans Reporting team within the Investment Reporting Unit in PGS is looking for an Accounting Analyst. We are responsible for providing accounting, financial reporting, and recordkeeping support for Prudential and its subsidiaries. The financial reporting is performed on a Statutory and GAAP basis. You will specifically support the following asset type: Mortgage Loans.  Support functions consist of reconciling, reporting, and analyzing mortgage loan positions and transactions by utilizing the Strategy/Loan Connect sub-ledger system, and the General Ledger (Oracle). 

The Investment Operations Analyst is accountable for the application of accounting rules and practices as appropriate for the various portfolios and asset types.  While we expect this individual to work independently on general assignments, he/she will work under the direction of senior staff or manager on complex projects and analysis.

This position is based in one of our offices in Tampa, Florida or Newark, NJ and will follow a hybrid schedule (3 days in office). Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

What you can expect

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory and GAAP based reports that are used in the firm’s regulatory filings

  • Completing quarterly and annual Schedule B and associated schedules and footnote

  • Preparing annual Surveys from external rating agencies i.e., Moody’s, S&P and AM Best

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations for asset and income accounts

  • Documenting and executing procedures for any new reporting requirements pertaining to Mortgage Loans

  • Completing various ad-hoc requests that are received from internal clients and business partners

  • Support enterprise initiatives and special projects as needed

  • Support internal and external audits

  • Overtime required during peak periods

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/ business or equivalent work experience

  • 0-2 years of investment accounting experience

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong computer/technical skills, primarily with Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory investment accounting

  • Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger would be considered a plus

  • Strong leadership and organizational skill

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with good communication and time management skills

  • Demonstrates ability to deliver high quality results
