Responsibilities & Requirements
- Facilitates all aspects of credentialing, including appointment, reappointment, proctoring, privileging, and provisional status for assigned physicians and allied health professionals in compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Performs diversified duties of considerable responsibility under minimal supervision.
- Works collaboratively with physicians, allied health practitioners and other hospital and network personnel.
- Facilitates all aspects of Medical Staff Office functions.
- Works collaboratively to maintain open communication with physicians, allied health practitioners, and other hospital personnel.
- Assists with accreditation survey preparation.
- Assists hospital credentials committee with development of privilege criteria and privilege delineations.
- Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) from the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS). If not certified upon initial hire, the employee has one year to obtain certification.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
