Accounting Supervisor

Job Duties

• Oversee a combination of accounting staff
• Reviews account reconciliations and journal entries ensuring compliance with existing controls, policies and procedures and GAAP
• Coordinate and review the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual processes for accuracy
• Oversee and review of work and monthly account reconciliations performed by team members
• Get, guide and root for assigned team and accurately assess performance, provide support, training, mentoring, and development to staff on an ongoing basis to ensure the department performs at a maximum performance level
• Assist Director in developing and leading regular training sessions to enhance department performance
• Assist Director in creating and implementing strategic vision
• Provides Director with metrics of assigned team noting key achievements and areas needing improvement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Proactively provides feedback to leadership on people, process, technology and compliance

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry accounting experience required
• Understanding of regulatory requirements is required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Organized and detail oriented with strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet assigned deadlines as required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be a team player in a professional environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
