Job Description
The Manager, Production Logistics for Sports & Olympics will report to the Senior Manager of Production Logistics. This position will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of all support functions for NBC Olympics at the International Broadcast Center, Olympic venues, Stamford facility, and the NBC domestic and international warehouses. This position will potentially travel to Olympic Host city for multiple months in support of the in-country logistics operation. The individual filling this position will expected to:
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation of all sourcing for non-technical equipment, supplies, and services both internationally and domestically.
- Verify and track all purchases, assets, and movement of other non-technical equipment.
- Manage the picking and packing of all goods needed for Sports and the Olympics.
- Support the facility fit out of furniture, wayfinding, décor, cleaning and waste management, office and non-technical production supplies, and other facility support functions at the various locations domestically and in the host country.
- Manage the Warehouse & Venue support desk services by organizing delivery schedules, leading meetings & coordinate with other departments to ensure needs are met.
- Manage domestic and foreign teams including the oversight of hiring and training efforts for up to 35 employees.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with large-scaled event management
- Proven experience in inventory management
- Strong analytical, technical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of internal customer relationships
- Coordinate operations with carriers and freight forwarders for international and domestic transportation services
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Sports broadcasting or Production-related fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must also demonstrate familiarity with basic database software.
- The role requires strong customer service, interpersonal skills, and must be well organized.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The position may be physically demanding; candidates must be able to lift at least 20 pounds.
- Proven working knowledge and understanding of Customs procedures requirements. Proven experience coordinating domestic and international airfreight and ocean freight shipments
- While this position will be based at our Stamford headquarters, occasional work will be required out of our Monroe warehouse. Must be willing to work out of both locations as required.
Additional Requirements:
- Temporary international relocation may be required.
- Valid Driver’s License and willingness to drive a work-provided vehicle domestically and internationally are preferred.
- Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years or older
- Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
