JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides strategic leadership in directing and overseeing the transfer of all new products from R&D into Manufacturing Operations including completion of commercialization activities to launch new products according to division goals. Exercise leadership in a multidisciplinary environment to expedite, manage, and coordinate a multitude of interrelated activities within the constraints of limited resources and changing priorities. Develop program strategies for product transfer. Serve as the key R&D interface to Manufacturing Operations, Quality and other cross functional leadership for product transfer.
What You’ll Work On
- Provides oversight and leadership to new product teams to develop transfer strategies for new products.
- Anticipates problems, resolves issues, learn and adjust based on prior results and leadership experience to solve problems that occur during product transfer.
- Manages the Design Transfer group.
- Provides coaching, mentoring and effective oversight of the team.
- Work cross-functionally with division leadership to ensure successful transfer and commercialization of new products.
- Coordinate input from R&D and cross-functional division leadership from Manufacturing Operations, QC, QA, Clinical Affairs, Planning, Purchasing, Validations, and Regulatory on related projects or sub-projects to increase resource efficiencies and reduce product cost through close collaboration.
- Develop product transfer strategies, timelines, and milestones.
- Identify resource requirements, costs and time schedules for the project funding process.
- Recognize the implication of actions and proposals on the final product outcome, related systems and activities, and general business strategy.
- Prepares reports and presents progress to management.
- Identify problems and recommend appropriate action plans.
- Serve directly and indirectly on multiple project teams in a leadership capacity to support process and compliance improvement activities.
- Achieve new product launch dates and key product milestones.
- Accountable for completing the transfer and launch of new products within budget constraints and project completion dates, and leading others in the completion of project tasks and subprojects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics
- Minimum 14 years experience in related field
- Ability to manage external partnerships and alliances
- Strong communication, cross-functional negotiation, and stakeholder alignment skills
- Deep understanding of instrument–assay interaction and system-level performance drivers
- Expertise in system architecture, reliability engineering, sensitivity optimization, and workflow integration
- Strong expertise in system integration, system requirements, and cross-component interface management
- Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams
The base pay for this position is
$172,000.00 – $344,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
